Applications
are invited from all individuals holding Baccalaureate or Master's degrees
with strong backgrounds in the physical and life sciences. Completed applications
must include all undergraduate and graduate transcripts, three letters
of recommendation, GRE scores, and a statement describing the individual's
scientific interests and professional goals. The department requires a
minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0/4.0 and a minimum GRE score of 1100 (combined
Verbal and Quantitative scores). GRE subject tests are not required. International
students whose primary language is not English must submit TOEFL scores.

Application Deadline is January 15
To be considered for traineeships, research assistantships and teaching assistantship please be sure your application is complete by January 15th. Complete the online application at the NCSU Graduate School web site; (see "apply online" link below). For individuals who are unable to complete the online application, a paper application can be obtained at the NCSU Graduate School web site. We do not accept applications for Spring Semester Admission; our course sequence requires students to begin in the Fall Semester. Applications submitted after January 15 may only be considered based on assistantship availability.
